Creating an Event

Tournament Expert's software is flexible, allowing users to perform tournament related tasks in any order they desire. For instance, you don't have to define the tournament before beginning to enter player names. Nor, for example, do you need to know how many players are on each team before scoring a best ball event. In fact, all tournament decisions can be made "on the fly." In our system, player rows can be added or deleted as necessary. Groups can be created and re-created at any time. Hole assignments and tee times can be created and adjusted easily. Even the scoring format can be changed in the midst of scoring.

And here's one more example. if you forgot that you needed to score an individual gross tournament within a best ball tournament that is currently being scored, with us, that is no problem. Our system can take raw scores and calculate both the best ball and the individual tournament. If the teams need to be readjusted after score entry, the software can do that as well.

Although tasks can be performed in any order, this is a common procedure:

• Populate the Player List (from your handicap system, from the Internet, from a spreadsheet submitted by an outside source, from our history file, or type directly into the Player List)
• Use our Handicap Calculator to determine handicaps and apply any caps or adjustments
• Create teams and pairings using our sorting tools and/or the Pairings Board
• Create cart signs, scorecards, pairings sheets, hole location sheets, and proximity markers. Make font and color choices as you go
• Make last minute adjustments and quickly create new cart signs and scorecards for the new pairings
• Once they are on the course, create scoreboards and calculate the payouts
• When play is finished, enter the scores into the Scoring Module
• Display results electronically, print a results sheet, and create gift certificates
• Post scores on the scoreboards so they can be referenced later and post results to the Internet
