Tournament Expert is uniquely qualified to provide golf tournament management software because our principal, Ted Kalmon, has experience in both the software industry and in the golf industry. He has been a software developer and systems engineer in the computer industry for over 20 years, including five years with the WordPerfect Corporation helping it mature its email offering, GroupWise, into one of the leading email architectures. He also consulted for several large New York City law firms in matters relating to email maintenance, architecture and software programming.
In the golf world, Ted is a Golf Rules Official who is currently a member of the Rules Committee of the Southern California Section of the PGA.
This combined experience means that Tournament Expert software is created with the golf professional in mind. Ted helps the development staff create user interfaces that are easy to understand and use. He also makes sure that our software includes the features desired by golf tournament directors.
Todd Bertermann, Development (Features and User Interface)/Tech Support/Testing. Todd is a Class A PGA Professional whose previous positions include Director of Golf at Mohawk Golf & Country Club in Ohio and Head Golf Professional at StillWaters Resort in Alabama. Todd's 18 years of experience in the golf industry, his attention to detail and his continuing contact with tournament directors and other PGA professionals is helping refine Sierra's user interface to make it even easier to use and more intuitive.
Mike Thiel, Sales & Marketing. Mike is a Class A PGA Professional and has been since 1991. He was formerly the Head Golf Professional at the Salem Golf Club in Salem, Ohio. Before that Mike was an Assistant Professional at clubs in Cleveland, Chicago, and South Florida. He graduated from the PGM program at Ferris State University. We are pleased to have Mike working with us and are glad that we are able to utilize his golf experience and his interest in sales and communications. He is able to relate to other golf professionals and show how our product makes their lives easier while enhancing the overall image of their golf operation.
Kelly-Yong Doherty,
Tech Support/Testing/Development. Kelly is a class A PGA Professional, finishing
the PGA PGM program in August of 2007. She is new to the Tech Support team and brings
experience as the former Tournament Director at BallenIsles Country Club,
a 54 hole private facility. There she used Tournament Expert software to run more
than 220 tournaments a year. We are pleased to have Kelly on our staff.
Her tournament operations experience allows her to relate to the day to day needs
of fellow tournament coordinators and golf professionals.
Michael Leow, Sales and
Marketing Director of Asia-Pacific Rim. Michael is very experienced in
helping companies adopt software and new technologies, having worked for
internet and technology firms since 1997. He has previously helped
leading retailers and manufacturers all over Asia adopt and implement
cutting edge internet based working platforms as the Regional Director

are legendary and they have been applied to software customization for

Office Manager, Graphics. Topaz comes to us from the apparel industry
where she is a clothing designer and director of new product development.
